The-junior varsity team, under the leadership of coach Jason Gochenour, clobbered Luray 7-2 at home last Thursday. Mark Wharton was three for four and drove in three runs. In the sixth inning he had a home run which put the Panthers up 4-2.
“That hit kind of broke the game open,” said Gochenour who said the team played a good defensive ball game and only gave up a run in the top of the fourth to Luray.
The Panthers scored their first two runs in the fifth and then exploded in the sixth with five more.
