The Rappahannock High School varsity baseball team has had a tough start to their 1998 season. They lost to Luray last week, 10-0, also to Page County, 8-6.
At Monday’s game against Strasburg Jacob Gray got his first high school career home run.
Chris Sealock pitched his first game and coach Donn Hackney said he was pleased with Sealock’s performance.
He was less than happy with the team’s defense though. “We’re making physical and mental mistakes but we’re hitting well. We can score but our defense has broken down.”
The Panthers fell to Strasburg Monday, 12-5.
