Check the suppliers information to determine the timing on shipping, which should be calculated to avoid exposing the plants to long periods in severe weather. For nonhardy seedlings and rooted cuttings this needs to be late enough to avoid damage, but early enough to give you the advantage of growing out the plants by spring planting dates. Mark your calendar for the anticipated date of arrival, and be prepared to plant them by that date.
