had a quote attributed to me that was erroneous. The discussion was actually about a book entitled Endangered Minds that gathered research about the physical effect of neurological development of young children who spend more hours passively watching television than actively playing.
One of the studies in this book measured, the brain waves of adults watching televisiort; noting the similarities to the brain waves of an induced drug state. I was not suggesting that television leads to drug use!
Providing a high quality early childhood cn program and an enriching after-school program for older children will continue to be om^( primary focus. Renovations of the Washington School and other projects are all part of this r~ major goal. The focus is and will continue tou.(( be the children.
