Additional survivors include two sisters, Virginia Campbell and Mae Long, both of Luray; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren and five great-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Strother Travis Brown; four brothers, Frank Atkins, Carlton Atkins, Malcolm Atkins and Gayland Atkins; four sisters, Marie Bruce, Ethel Clater, Estelle Leake and Edna Oliver; a sonin-law, Charles E. Payne and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 13 at Sperryville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Merlin Shorb officiating.
Interment followed in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, John T. Brown, Strother T.. Brown, Jay T. Brown, Benjamin T. Brown, Paul A. Brown and Jason S. Brown and two close friends, Carson Johnson and Jimmy Swjndler.
