In addition to the turkeys, there is an anonymous parishioner who supplies the accompanying vegetables. The collection has been so large that the turkeys and vegetables go over to Christmas.
Bane says, “We hope to have the same response this year. The newsletter comes out once a month. There’s a weekly bulletin. And our rector talks about it from the pulpit.”
Episcopal Church Women
The church also helps around holiday time if other ways. A national group, the Episcopal Church Women, has for many years now taken a family shopping before Christmas.
Bane says, “They don’t tell us who they are. It’s done very quietly. The ECW also gives another contribution to Social Services: $500 at Christmastime.”

The best way to donate a turkey is to go directly to Social Services. They are located directly across from Trinity Episcopal Church at 354 Gay St. They are open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Or, if you would like to make a financial contribution, their address is: Social Services, P.O.
