her residence has caused her to question the safety of landings near residential areas, and led her to raise the issue in the first place. Reinhardt Lynch cautioned care in framing any restrictive ordinances to avoid the appearance of bias against The Inn.

He said that “the only private landings have been for The Inn” and “if it’s an issue of safety, we need to look at other safety issues ... “if noise, then we need to look at other noise issues.”

After further discussion, Alice Butler moved to refer the issue to the Planning Commission to begin the process of drafting an ordinance, but her motion failed. Vice Mayor Steve Critzer will, however, speak to the County Administrator John McCarthy to obtain information on the county’s thoughts on the issue, and will report back to the Town Council.
