A recent discussion at the last School Board
meeting has prompted much outrage throughout our community. A few concerned citizens stated that they believed that there were coaches out in the community who were more qualified than the present day coaches. They also expressed concern over the fact that they didn’t completely agree with the way that coaches are hired. They circulated a petition that stated we should do what is “best” for our children, and that’s exactly what I would like to comment on.
The main problem that I see here is that pjeople obviously have a different definition of the word “best” or at least how it should be applied to coaches and our athletic director. If I were a parent, I would want a coach that not only could teach my child how to excel in a particular sport, but would also be a positive role model for my child by exemplifying and enforcing values and morals that our society in general agrees upon. ! For those concerned citizens who are obviously unaware of what a coach’s duties entail, f would like to briefly state what has been expected of me as a coach. Coaches are expect
