Town water issues
The public did not comment on the revised Town Water Policy during a hearing on that subject, but Mayor Willis noted that the private recreation center on the Town’s north side was in arrears on its payments, and he suggested that the Council might withdraw the center’s tap rights. Mr. Carter, representing the center’s owners, said that the building is in need of repair, cannot be rented, and therefore there is no income to pay the minimum monthly water bill ($12 per month). Steve Critzer discussed the possibility of waiving the center’s monthly minimum charge with Town Attorney Bennett, and Treasurer Elaine Viguerie recommended that the Council move to do so. The Council then separately approved the revised Town Water Policy and the established rates included as Appendix A, which was amended to exclude the recreation center from monthly minimum charges.
