Diane Bruce of Washington has been selected by the judges of Rappahannock County Circuit Court to fill the vacancy which will be created by the retirement of the present Clerk EJVL Jones of Washington. Mr. Jones will retire in July.

Rappahannock County will soon have a full-time veterinarian and she’s a lady. Fayette Witherell will formally open her practice at Fern Springs Animal Hospital in Castleton during the second week in April at the former offices of retiring Dr. William Wake.

In a photo, Rappahannockian Pete Aylor and Breezy Buggy parted company at one of the timber jumps in the Leeds Manor race at the Old Dominion Hunt Point-toPoint last Saturday held at Ben Venue Farm. Neither rider nor horse was hurt.

In real estate ads: Eileen Day was offering a restored farm house with three bedrooms, nestled in the hills with seclusion woods and stream for $59,500. Ray T. Cannon offered 148 acres of farmland near Castleton for $197,500. While Panorama Realty offered a four bedroom brick home on five and one-half acres near the Castleton-Ben Venue area * for $69,500.
