Mr. Smythe attempted to clarify some of what he had characterized as misinformation-he said that football would not be in competition with other sports and would, in fact, result in financial benefit to all sports programs as is the case ') in all other high school football ' programs; he noted that football would correct the fall boys’ sports program deficiency that left 77 boys without anything to do; and he informed the Board that more than $25,000 had been raised in the past four weeks and that the funds would more than pay for a freshman football program next fall.
