Jane Peterson

Jane S. Peterson, 82, of Sonoma, Calif., formerly of Viewtown and Buffalo, N.Y. died Tuesday, April 2 at the Sonoma Valley Hospital after a short illness.

Born Feb. 18, 1920 in Red Wing, Minn., daughter of Harold and Lillian Sundberg, she graduated from Red Wing High School and Stephens College in Missouri. She moved to Sonoma three years ago from Viewtown.

The wife of a naval aviator, she previously lived in Buffalo, N.Y., Alexandria, Virginia Beach, Pensacola, Fla. and San Diego, Calif.

Mrs. Peterson was married to the late Commander H.W. “Pete” Peterson.

An avid reader and lifelong teacher, Mrs. Peterson studied world history, politics and foreign languages, and shared her love of learning with so many. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Sonoma and served in a leadership role of both
