Although there have been some significant year-to-year increases, the school budget has averaged an 8.1 percent increase over the last five years. During the same period, inflation has averaged about 3 percent. Therefore, on a dollar-todollar basis, the school budget has increased an average of only 5.1 percent per year over the past five years.
