BEN VENUE — It looked like the United Nations was in session at Ben Venue Farm Saturday.
Simon Hobson has ridden races extensively in England, Ireland, France, Italy and South Africa. At the Old Dominion Hounds Point-toPoint it was basically old home week for the English native as he partnered two — guess what? — imported steeplechasers to claim the twin features at the April 6 meet.
Hobson first suited up in Tim Savage’s new Big Apple stable silks for the open hurdle. A horse he also trains. French import Royal Manhattan was looking for his first win on American soil.
