Things have come a long way since, say, October 1953, when townspeople were asked to observe what color other communities painted their hydrants (red, so the town followed suit). Or 1975, when Charlie Jenkins checked the systems’ water pressure by shooting a stream of water over the Court House roof from a 2 1/2” hose. A new reservoir is now in the works and a wastewater treatment facility is contemplated. The Washington Water Works is moving into the 21st century.
Any other water works planned for Rappahannock County? Luckily, current development in Rappahannock County does not call for such.
