The Inn At Little Washington's beloved Dalmatian mascot, Rose expired Monday, May 13 at her home "Rose Cottage'' in "Little" Washington.
Nearing 13 years old, she Was a fixture at The Inn and was immortalized in countless magazine photos, paintings, books and newspaper stories. Always dressed in her signature Mikimoto pearls and ruby pendent she sometimes served as the restaurant's hostess, often returning home at the end of a ; long evening smelling like the perfume counter at Blooming! dale’s.
She won the hearts of grande dames such as Pamela Harriman, Katherine Graham, and Diane Sawyer. Rose • received so much fan mail that 1 special stationery was created . bearing her paw print to answer tthe letters.
