Rapp just missed widening the lead when Hannah Rosenbaum, Megan Wheatley, and Osha Kondori put together some nice lead passes down the field, but a Culpeper defender deflected the shot wide. Culpeper then scored to even the game on a shot similar to Rapp’s first half goal, just over the outstretched arms of the Rapp keeper.
Just moments later, Samantha Falls found Maia Lucking open just inside the Culpeper penalty box, and Maia drilled the ball into the corner of the goal to give Rapp a 2-1 advantage.
With the clock winding down, Culpeper applied more pressure but missed their chance to even the score when a long crossing shot just missed wide. Kara Corbin, Stevie Ross and Lily Day played strong, plugging the holes and keeping Culpeper from getting any good looks at the goal.
The final whistle blew with Rapp victorious, 2-1. Coach Dodd said, “I’m so happy for the girls. They really earned this.” Next week the girls take on Madison at RCHS. Good luck girls!
