A road maintenance agreement which was requested in 2002 has finally been signed and approved by the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors this week.
The delay in signing the agreement, which includes property owned by Rappahannock County off Flatwood Road in Washington, came when landowners off the road failed to sign the original agreement three years ago after being prepared by Peter Luke, commonwealth attorney.
However, two of the original petitioners have now agreed to sign an updated agreement to establish a public road for their own personal convenience.
Dudley B. and Geraldine L. Freeman and Adrian Freeman have agreed to construct a public road over land that Rappahannock County currently holds title to, allowing access from tax map parcels 28-34 and 28-34A to Rock Mills Road, by way of Flatwood Road.
