Telephones, trauma
and a bomb threat
Rappahannock County high school recently received
a bomb threat, the students were evacuated and
school and county officials acted promptly to safeguard the school.
All is well now but what a shame that valuable time and resources were redirected even for a few hours.
The perpetrators have been identified as students and appropriate action will be taken against them.
Ever since the terrorism attacks of 9/11 rocked this country and shattered our sense of safety in a horrifying way, threats of any kind are not taken lightly.
When you are talking about the potential loss of life, injury and impact on a community that an actual bomb could cause, it is an even greater shame that it would be threatened by a thoughtless act when the consequences could be so significant.
What a shame.
