Drum call workshops

Life Stories Workshop
Special Opportunity to Attend Ki Theatre Life Stories Workshop in Washington Sunday, March 13. Come and see why more than 300 people from Rappahannock, Culpeper, Warren, Madison, and Fauquier counties have taken these amazing workshops. Julie Portman and Life Stories teacher trainees will present a 2-hour workshop froml -3 p.m. that is open to the public. The fee is $15. Hardy Camelias
Anyone interested in gardening and in hearing about “Hardy Camelias” is invited to the March meeting of the Rappahannock County Garden Club which will be held on Wednesday March 16 at the Washington Fire Hall. Refreshments are served at 1p.m. and the meeting/program begins at 1:30 p.m. The club’s meetings are open to the public, but an RSVP to the club hostess that day is suggested. Health Fair
A Health Fair will be held on March 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rappahannock County High School sponsored by the American Cancer Society. A number of other organizations, including Culpeper Regional Hospital, Fauquier Hospital and the Rappahannock Lions, will be providing screenings and information about health problems. Casino Night
Rappahannock County School Sports Association is pleased to announce the Annual Casino Night event will take place on Saturday, March 19 at the Washington School. The theme this year is Tropical Isle Adventure’ Take a break from the cold winter and let the tropical heat and island music take over for an evening. All proceeds benefit the Rappahannock County Student Athletes directly.
Chili Bowl fund-raiser
The third annual Piedmont Softball Association Chili Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, from 3-7 p.m. in the Bill Payne Auction gallery building on Rt. 211 in Amissville. Chili chefs compete for coveted awards; the public is invited to come judge! Also available will be $5 Hair Cuttery haircuts; exciting cake walks; a bake sale; and more. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for ages 4-8 all you can eat and under three, eat free. All proceeds benefit the girls’ softball programs of Piedmont Softball. Lions club annual auction
Rappahannock Lions Club President, Ken Marlor, announced that the annual auction will be held on April 30 at Bill Payne’s Auction Bam in Amissville. The Club is now soliciting donations of furniture, collectibles and other resalable merchandise for auction. All proceeds are used for the benefit of the Rappahannock community.
