Coming back trom town, 1 started having a lot of trouble just making headway. I was traveling Rt. 729 and it had not been treated or pushed. Being a fearless snow driver, I tried to keep up a good speed. In just a minute I was over a small bank taking with me a mailbox and a paper box. The owner of the property pulled me out and I paid him for the damage and I was on my way again. Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Bledsoe that live near Scotts Store, who helped me.
After getting out of the ditch, I struggled for a few more miles on Rt. 729 until I got to the Rappahannock County line where I soon became very relaxed, since the roads were in great shape.
I want to thank the VDOT contractor who was responsible for clearing the local roads. I was told by several people that Richard Compton is a large snow removal contractor for Rappahannock County. It did not surprise me that the roads were in this good shape when I heard he was doing this.
