Registration for the 3rd annual Soap Box Derby of Culpeper, hosted by Rosson & TVoilo Motor Co., is under way and will continue until May 6, 2005.
The race takes place on Saturday, June 25, 2005 on Blue Ridge Avenue (traffic will be rerouted around the course).
The 2004 Soap Box Derby had 68 drivers in two divisions, we expect at least 85 to 90 participates in this year’s Derby, in three different divisions.
Drivers can register with Frankie Troilo at Rosson & Troilo, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Drivers will need signed registration forms, and a copy of their birth certificate.
There is a $40.00 registration fee, which is waived for all new car purchasers.
The goals of the Soap Box Derby program have not. changed since it began in 1934: to promote families working together to teach children some basic skills of workmanship along with the spirit of competition and the perseverance to continue a project to completion.
