, The former Rappahannock College Access Program (RCAP) office has a new name.
After holding a threeweek contest in which we received 30 excellent entries from students grades K through 12, we decided that Justin Gheen’s entry, “Next Step,” fit our mission 1 he best. We are working to help each student take their ‘Next Step’ after Rappahannock High School, be it college, vocational school or career counseling.
For his submission, Justin Gheen, a junior, will receive a $200 scholarship to the postsecondary institution of his choice. At this time, Justin has his sights set on Virginia Tech, where he wants to study Mechanical Engineering. To better his chances, Justin is working hard to do well in the hardest math and science classes that RCHS offers.
A $50 scholarship prize will also be given to sophomore Thomas Clay Vicars for his entry (which references George Washington on the $1 bill): “WHERE’S GEORGE? Finding the last dollar to fund your college education.” We
