The winter season for students in the school bands has been exciting.
Under the batons of Matthew Yonkey and Lynne Founier, our students began their winter season with the TriCounty Band. This two-day event brings together students from Fauquier, Culpeper and Rappahannock County Bands who work with guest conductors on challenging new music.
The following RCHS students participated: Buster Brown, Amanda Frye, Kim Hutcheson, Laura Keller, Mattie Nawrocki, Patrick Treanor, Andrew Treanor, Megan Wheatley, and Matt Wiese.
RCES was represented by Cody Casey, Morgan Cloud, Allie Dore , Dana Hockenberry, Taylor Light, Steven Nelson, Huck Pace, Heidi Rechin, Laurel Rothrock, Joslyn Smith, Brittany Stephens, Kristin Taylor, Sarah Wheatley, and Halie Williams.
The season continued in January when five high school and three middle school students traveled to Blacksburg for the Virginia Honor Band at Virginia Tech during the snowy weekend of January 21-23. Schools from four states nominated students for Honor Band and the students audition for one of three performance bands.
