A non-assignable Contract of Sale of Real Estate has been signed by the county and M.T. Puskar Construction Company, Inc of Alexandria, and by resolution, a deed conveying the property has added signature by M.T. Puskar Company, LLC, a Virginia Limited Liability Company for the purchase of the Aileen property in Flint Hill.
Resolutions made by the contract include M.T. Puskar being “responsible for any environmental remediation which may become necessary because of contamination of the property...” as well as the addition of the LLC.
“Their attorney requested the property be titled as a limited liability company due to tax purposes,” Luke explained to the board.
The environmental resolution stems from gross land contamination that occurred when the facility was used for clothing manufacture.
The Department for Environmental Quality (DEQ) has closely monitored the condition of the land surrounding the building and will continue to do so until the ground is clear of the contamination.
Luke advised that during the real estate closing a note for $520,000 has been prepared for signature at a four percent interest rate.
This contract of sale and resolution was voted upon by the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors. A unanimous vote was made to approve the sale in the absence of Frazier.
