The women were very touched and honored to receive a beautiful plaque last year to commemorate United Methodist Women’s 135 years of service. The plaque can now hang in the new social hall where the women conduct so much of their work. The plaque was given by church member Barbara Sanders’ son and daughter in law Frank and Carol Williams. An image of the church is wood-burned onto an old bread board which was used by the women for many years to knead dough. The image was taken from a drawing by Sanders’ brother, Tommy Sanders who owns BareTrees Gallery in Griffinsburg.
It is every church members’ hope that the addition will open up new avenues to the community to hear God’s word and experience fellowship with other Christians, no matter if you are just starting down the path, or if you have been along the road for many years.
United Methodist’s motto is: “Open hearts, open minds, open doors” with an intergenerational congregation that values worship, fellowship, and spiritual truth ministry.
At the church you will find a warm friendly neighborly atmosphere that welcomes you and has an authentic concern for you and for others.
