On the mend
Flint Hill photo-journalist Richard Lykes has been
under the weather for several weeks. Suffering
from a grave case of viral pneumonia, Richard spent several days at George Washington University hospital in Washington, D.C.
The word spread quickly throughout the Rappahannock countryside and perhaps buoyed by the wafting prayers and positive vibes from all his many well wishers coupled with strong antibiotics and Buddy’s . chicken soup and hot toddies, Richard arrived home on New Year’s Eve to welcome the New Year from his home at Vista Hermosa in Flint Hill.
As many of you know, Richard is a major contributor to the Rappahannock News and while his photos may not grace the pages of this paper in quite the same number for awhile, it is far more important that the body and spirit of the man behind the camera reclaims his health.
Richard is not only basking in the comfort of his familiar surroundings but recovering with the knowledge that his well being is treasured by many in this county.
