resistance to integration in the late 1950s as the child plaintiff in the case of Betty Ann Kilby vs. Warren County Board of Education. This local case became a part of the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education case that struck down the separate but equal laws in the U.S. Mrs. Fisher is the daughter of Mrs Catherine Allsberry Kilby and the late Mr. James Wilson Kilby, formerly of Flint Hill. Music for this event will be provided by Rev. Lemuel Montgomery and the Martin Luther King Community Choir of Fauquier County and neighboring vicinities. This event is sponsored each year by the Julia E. Boddie Scholarship Committee as a fundraiser. There is no fee; however a free will offering will be taken with proceeds going toward the scholarship.
