The Collection Development Librarian, a professional Librarian II position at Library Administration, will be responsible for selecting electronic resources and audiovisual materials for seven library branches and Outreach services. Position will manage the administrative modules for online reference services, downloadable materials and databases and analyze usage statistics for cost effectiveness. Position will serve as primary resource person on database issues and training needs. Position will coordinate Output Measures survey and prepare statistical reports. Position will serve as backup to the Interlibrary Loan and Horizon acquisitions functions. Candidate must have excellent communication skills, database evaluation and training experience, a strong statistical background and dedication to excellent customer service and teamwork. Initiative, adaptability and motivation in determining new collection trends are critical. Requires completion of a Mister s degree from an ALA accredited school of Library Science and 2 years of related job experience. Must obtain certification as a professional librarian by the Commonwealth of Virginia within 6 months of hire.
