“All you have to do is go to this tiny, intimate theatre to see what Wendy has provided our community - world class performances in a venue that uplifts our spirits. You see it on the faces of the audience - the expressions of rapture, the total immersion into what is on stage, whether it is chamber music, a jazz concert, Russian folk dancing, or the Baptist Church variety show. There’s always one encore after another. You can’t help but be swept away by it all. And during some performances, when the audience claps to the music and sings along, it is a very special moment especially since many in the audience are neighbors.”
Partnering with the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, The Theatre plays host to film fans who can watch first run movies in the comfort of a small, intimate theatre.
Beyond her many local fans and friends, Wendy Weinberg has a strong following among residents of many counties as they travel to be a part of this unique niche that she has created in the Tbwn of Washington.
As a New Year begins and another season at The Theatre begins, the Rappahannock News recognizes the spirit and gumption of Wendy Weinberg and pays her tribute for the gift she has given this county and salutes her as the 2005 Citizen of the Year.
