Baby Sign Language 101
Want to learn how to communicate with your baby before he or she can speak? Babies may lack the fine motor skills to speak, but they do have the ability to understand and use language as early as six to seven months. Research has shown that when you sign with your pre-verbal baby, your child will speak earlier, be less frustrated, have a higher IQ and develop a deeper parental bond. Pediatric Mini Medical School
This winter, Fauquier Hospital is welcoming students to Pediatric Mini Medical School—a new medical lecture series for parents covering a variety of topics of interest to young families with children. During the series, four local pediatricians will present information on pediatric infectious disease, newborn jaundice, infant and child development and laboratory tests used to help diagnose illnesses Participants do not need a science or medical background, just a healthy interest in learning more about illnesses their children may experience and how they are diagnosed.
