The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office has arrested James William Snyder of Arlington,VA in connection with the December shooting of a valuable horse in Sperryville. Snyder is charged with reckless handling of a firearm , which is a class one misdemeanor. Snyder is believed to have shot the horse by mistake while hunting.
“According to him, he was unaware that he had shot the horse,” said Lieutenant Connie Smith of the RCSO, who investigated the case and arrested Snyder.
