Ms. van Dort took the opportunity to especially recognize its most dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer at the Society—Donna Fisher. She commented on Ms. Fisher’s work collecting and cataloging of materials, researching requests for property and family records, coordinating Board activities and the newsletters, and fielding other inquiries for information. Ms. Fisher is, is in van Dort’s words, “the breeze that is her enthusiasm and devotion [that] has kept our sails constantly inflated at near gale force at the Historical Society.”
Special thanks also went to Thom Pellikaan and Lillian Aylor who chaired the food preparation and delivery. Thom Pellikaan donated the funds for much of the buffet food, including the roasted pig prepared by Linda Corbin of Lakeside Caterers of Culpeper.
