After graduating from business school, Bill Pursche pursued a typical MBA careen he joined a high powered consulting firm in New York. Later he moved to Virginia where he continued consulting. He seemed to have it all, a great career, good health, great friends, a nice house. But one day he attended a border collie dog trial and something occurred to him: his "perfect" life didn't allow him to have a dog; he traveled too much and had too many commitments.
So changes needed to be made. It took almost two years, but by that time he had a dog and had totally changed his life. He created a profession that would fit around ,his life instead of the other way around. Part of this story is told in his book Lessons lb Live By: The Canine Commandments, describing a series of life lessons learned from dogs.
