Washington’s position is that it faces a steadily worsening septic problem. Septic systems within the town are failing due to time, the inadequacies of their construction, poor soil, and a lack of space. The town has been searching for a solution to the problem for more than fifteen years, and has spent more than $165,000 on consultants and engineers researching many different types of wastewater disposal.
