Bobby Czekaj pitched the final inning. He got some help from freshman Chase Tupper, who started a game-ending double play.

Rappahannock scored three times in the bottom of the first. Russell led off with a walk and stole second and third. Alex Sharp also walked. A passed ball allowed Russell to score and moved Sharp to second. Jason Jenkins followed with an RBI single. Jenkins stole second and moved to third on another passed ball. Czekaj followed with a delayed bunt single to drive in Jenkins with the third run.

The Panthers scored again in the third, as Sharp reached base on an outfield error and came home on Jenkins’ double.
