May 28: “Art in the Garden”
Workshop
On Sunday, May 28, a class will be taught by local artist Linda Ramer from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Momingside Farm and nursery in Boston. “The Garden is a wonderful place to explore interrelated color, pattern, texture, and design,” she says. Watercolors and colored pencils will be provided, along with tea service and scones. The cost of the workshop is $25. .From Sperryville, take Sperryville Pike, Rt. 522, toward Culpeper for 11 miles. Remembrance service
In honor of Memorial Day, a community remembrance service with the Little Fork Rangers and the Culpeper Minute Men, dressed in period costumes and uniforms from the War Between the States and the Revolutionary War, will be held Sunday, May 28th at 2 p.m. at Little Fork Church in Rixeyville. Period prayers will be said and some letters from soldiers will be read. The cavalry will arrive on horseback, as for their original muster 145 years ago. Please join us in this remembering service.
May 29: Rappahannock
Equine Rescue League
The next meeting of the Rappahannock Equine Rescue League will be Monday, May 29, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Griffin Tavern. Members will then proceed to the RERL Farm to meet the rescue horses, including “Driving Home,” winner of the 1980 Queen’s Plate and the 1981 Sovereign Awards in Canada, who now resides there. All are welcome!
