Hot-Line Opens
For Writers
Should a writer begin a sentence with “and?” When should a colon replace a semi-colon? Is a preposition a good word to end a sentence with?
For answers to questions like these, Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music offers a new service: quick professional help by calling the "Writing HotLine," staffed by members of Shenandoah’s English Department.
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the “Writing Hot-Line” is open from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Call 667-8714, ext. 472, during these hours, and either Dr. Jack Balcer or Dr. Ed Vavra will be glad to answer questions. w
