Commonwealth’s attorney Douglas Baumgardner pointed out that all property in the town of Washington is in the same zoning category and so all special use permits and exceptions will continue to be approved by the town council, even if the county comprehensive plan is adopted by the town. "There are no rezonings in the town so the planners wouldn't be involved there,” he said.
Baumgardner acknowledged. however, that any proposed changes in the town’s zoning ordinances would have to be reviewed by the county planners.
