I think this group felt more pressure to behave after mishaps last year cast a cloud on the trip. The class worked harder to raise money for the outing, earning an extra $2,000 for the Trailways buses. Maybe the additional effort made them more appreciative. Or maybe—please let it be so!—good manners are coming back into style.
For whatever the reasons, Rappahannock's seventh graders couldn't have been better behaved. The kids learned a lot in Williamsburg. Now Williamsburg knows we teach manners here in the country.
