the training it offers, the quality of its teaching equipment, the dedication of its faculty and administration and the attitude of the Piedmont students.
The young men and women deserve high marks for self-discipline. Most of the training is individualized. Students work at their own pace on different projects spread out over a lab with one teacher walking from project to project to advise and assist. There’s no one looking over their shoulder every minute of the class time* but the students we saw on Monday’s tour weren’t taking any time off to goof around.
“They get a break half-way through the class,” Bodine said. “At the beginning of the year, the halls were pretty crowded with students using that break to relax. Now, they’re so involved that very few leave. The halls are almost deserted during breaks because the kids just keep right on working.”
