In addition, Vuxton emphasized, PWI’s programs are for people who are motivated to work AND who can realistically work, "We’ll evaluate them to determine if they’re capable of working and if they can’t, we ll tell them so,” he said. “We wouldn’t place anyone unless we’re sure they can do the job. We're not going to make any headway burning employers.”
According to Vuxton, his primary concern is with the employers in PWL's programs as opposed to individual handicapped clients. "If someone is not working out we’ll pull that person off the job,” he emphasized.
If possible, another position will be found for the individual. If not, he or she must drop out of the program. "Our relationship with the employer is paramount. If we give bad referrals, the employer won’t want to accept other placements and the entire programs would be jeopardized.”
