Positive Attitude
High standards must be coupled with a positive attitude, according to Estabrook. “Without a positive philosophy, it’s easy to become bogged down in what’s wrong...I'm not saying we should ignore our problems but we need to maintain a positive balance while we try to forge ahead." he maintained. “We can best serve our young people by trying to keep our chins up."
Estabrook also emphasized the “team approach," noting how appreciative he is to have help from his assistant superintendent Jerry Lysik. With the complexity of today's problems, this team concept has become more and more important in public education, he said.
