On his visit last week to the Rappahannock court house, Jerry Baliles, Democratic candidate for attorney general, took an opportunity to strike out at his republican opponent, charging Wyatt Durrette with inconsistencies in his positions on the major issues of their campaign.
“His public life is marked by convenient flip-flops," said Baliles in an interview last Wednesday with the Rapphannock News.
According to Baliles, Durrette has straddled the fence on the Equal Rights Amendment, saying he was for passage of ERA every time he ran as a Northern Virginia delegate to the General Assembly. “I don’t know where he stands now.” (In his appearance at the court house on July 23, Durrette said he opposed passage of ERA.)
