Metnoaist Church, second; Lakewood Stoves and Chimney Sweeps was the best comic entry with the Blue Ridge Arson Squad of Acca Temple. Winchester, second; best antique car was a 1941 Cadillac owned by Jon Morgan of Woodville and second was a 1939 Buick of Bill Olinger of Front Royal. In majorette competition Clarke County Twirlettes were first, Madison Mountaineers, second and Stanely Starlettes, third; best drum and bugle corps, the Revengers, Martinsburg, W. Va., first and the Gainesville Redcoats, second. The fire company wishes to thank all persons who in any vay contributed to the •uccess of the event.
Homecoming
And Revival
The Slate Mills Baptist Church will observe homecoming and revival the week of August 9-14. The Rev. James Crane, pastor of Gourdvine Baptist Church, will be the speaker Sunday evening and through the week. Sunday School will be at 10 o’clock and morning worship at 11 o’clock.
The pastor. Rev. Harold Eaton, will conduct the 11 o’clock service Sunday and dinner will follow. Special music will be provided by the church choirs and some guest musicians will participate.
Services will begin each evening at 8 o’clock. The public is cordially invited to attend.
