The Pillars’ arrowheads were examined by an expert from the archeological society in Richmond. According to the archeologist, the black stone arrowheads Tom found are not native to this area but were carried here by Indians traveling down the Appalachian Trail. The expert estimated that many of the pieces in Tom’s collection are between 8,000 and 10,000 years old.
