Bird dog trials on Saturday, October 24, will open the annual fall events sponsored by the Madison Wildlife Association. The race is set to begin at 9 a.m. on the Louis Graves farm near Rochelle. Dogs will be in three divisions: Gass 1county dogs; Gass 2 - out of county 'dogs; and Gass 3 - grand champion. Beagle trials are scheduled fur the following week, on Saturday, October 31, also at 9 a.m., but on the John Gore farm at Quaker Run. This race is open to out-ofcounty dogs as v,." — county beagles, with competition in two classes. Dogs will enter the beagle contest in groups of 13-inch and under and 15inch and under, with a grand champion to be named in final judging. Highlight of the season is the traditional fox drag race and horn blowing contest held at the A. Lawton Blankenbaker farm at Haywood. The event is scheduled for Saturday,
