To the editor:
We in Virginia have long been proud of our fine tradition of fiscal responsibility. This philosophy that has apparently become prevalent in Washington recently has been predominant in Virginia for many years.
One candidate for Governor, Marshall Coleman, before he had any idea what the next four years hold gave his solemn pledge not to raise any taxes. Then before too long, he said he would put tolls on our highways and increase certain special taxes. I submit that his actions are irresponsible and I believe he has shown he will raise our taxes.
Chuck Robb has given his commitment to working with the General Assembly to avoid tax increases. Indeed, the General Assembly has
