towards school employee’s hospitalization premiums to be applied instead on intensive care or cancer insurance premiums. To avoid administrative problems, teachers are to decide upon a single company that offers intensive care and cancer policies.

In regard to the long debated capital improvements program for the county high school, Estabrook reported that in his capacity as educational consultant to the board, he is currently reviewing all the file data on the subject. This must be done, said Estabrook before he can determine whether current space is adequate or inadequate.

“I assume you’re waiting for me to finish my homework before you get back into this arena,” the superintendent said, adding that he will present a report as soon as he finishes his study.

Attendance Down

“I’m storry I can’t show you more heartwarming figures,” said Estabrook in reporting that attendance in the county’s two public schools is still below what was projected for the current year.

The budget for 1981-82 was based on an enrollment of 1,121, approximately five percent above the actual enrollment to date of 1,067.

In addition, Estabrook noted, state aid for education payments made through October of this year are based on an enrollment of 1,131, almost six percent above the actual number of students in school.

“I’m not sure exactly what the budget impact will be...At this point, we’re in for a drop,” Estabrook said, adding that state reimbursement will be affected for the first time in November by the lower enrollment figures.
