"The critical time is from late June to early July, that is when the moth (in larvae stage) will begin eating the leaves on the trees. It is this time—we are talking about a two to three-week period—when we have to act with the controls such as spraying. But if you have a rainy or cloudy day then you can't do your aerial sprays. You are at the mercy of the weather. That is why it is necessary to monitor the population before it comes to such a crucial point and you are, in effect, left with no choice or alternative.”
